New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and his Prosperity Party on their decisive victory in Ethiopia’s parliamentary elections.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi extended his best wishes to Abiy Ahmed and praised the strong and longstanding relationship between India and Ethiopia.
Modi said that India greatly values its historic, multifaceted, and deep-rooted ties with Ethiopia. Recalling his visit to the East African nation last year, he expressed confidence in working closely with the Ethiopian leader to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
“Heartiest congratulations to my friend, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Prosperity Party for a decisive victory in the Ethiopian parliamentary elections,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation and people-to-people ties between India and Ethiopia, reaffirming India’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations.
