Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Congress, led by state president Bhakta Charan Das, staged a protest in front of Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, condemning the police action against demonstrators in Delhi and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations.
The protest came a day after Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, held a dharna outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi, seeking Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET paper leak controversy and protesting the police action against students.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule also joined the protest in the national capital. The opposition leaders were later removed from the protest site and detained by the Delhi Police.
