PM Modi Commissions Three Indigenous Naval Ships in Kolkata

Kolkata: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday commissioned three indigenously designed and built naval vessels — INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray — at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.

The Prime Minister said the induction of the three warships would strengthen India’s maritime security, operational capabilities and coastal defence. Built with more than 75 per cent indigenous content, the vessels reflect India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

Modi noted that the ships were designed by the Indian Navy and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers with contributions from over 200 MSMEs. He said the commissioning marks another milestone in India’s journey towards becoming a global maritime and defence manufacturing power.
