In the aftermath of the tragic terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir — which claimed 26 lives — Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confirmed that 575 Malayalis remain stranded in the region. The state government has swung into action, launching urgent measures to ensure their safety and organize their swift return home.
To coordinate rescue efforts, a dedicated help desk has been set up to gather details of those affected. As of now, 49 families have registered, confirming the presence of over 575 Keralites still in the conflict-hit area.
The Kerala government is actively working with local and central authorities to arrange emergency travel, provide medical aid, and ensure food supply for those stranded. Special support has also been extended to Malayali tourists arriving in Delhi from Kashmir, including ticket bookings for their onward journey.
Condemning the attack, CM Vijayan called it a brutal assault on humanity and urged unity in the fight against terrorism and hate propaganda. “We must stand together with unwavering resolve so that another Pahalgam never happens again,” he stated firmly.
With round-the-clock monitoring of the situation, the Kerala government has reaffirmed its commitment to bring every citizen safely back from the danger zone.
