The Unique Identification Authority of India has clarified that there are no plans to alter the current design of Aadhaar, dismissing reports suggesting it will soon be reduced to just a photo and QR code.
In a statement issued via the Press Information Bureau, the authority said such claims are incorrect and have led to unnecessary confusion among the public.
UIDAI has advised citizens to ignore unverified news and social media posts, and to rely only on official communications for accurate information.
