NEET Aspirant Caught with Fake Admit Card in Kerala; Akshaya Centre Staff Arrested

A 20-year-old NEET aspirant from Thiruvananthapuram was detained at the GVHSS Thykkavu exam centre in Pathanamthitta on Sunday for attempting to write the NEET UG 2025 exam using a forged admit card.

The alert invigilators spotted discrepancies when they noticed that the main portion of the admit card displayed the name ‘Jithu’, while the self-declaration form carried the details of another registered candidate, ‘Abhiram’, who was allotted a different centre in Thiruvananthapuram.

Upon interrogation, the student confessed that he had received the fake hall ticket from an Akshaya Centre in Neyyattinkara, where his mother had paid ₹1,250 for the exam application. However, the application was never submitted. When the mother asked for the admit card, a female employee named Greeshma allegedly fabricated one by modifying details from another genuine candidate’s hall ticket and sent it via WhatsApp.

The Pathanamthitta police have since arrested Greeshma, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered. The case has sparked serious concerns over the integrity of examination systems and the accountability of public service centres, such as Akshaya.

Authorities are now conducting a full-fledged investigation into the incident, which has highlighted potential vulnerabilities in the exam application process and the misuse of digital services in education.
