
Nagpur: Veteran actor Nana Patekar’s death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from political leaders, social activists and members of the film industry, who remembered him for his memorable performances and commitment to social causes.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar and social activist Prakash Amte were among those who expressed grief over the actor’s passing.
Patekar died at his residence in Goa in the early hours of Thursday. Known for his intense performances and ability to portray a wide range of characters, he remained a prominent figure in Indian cinema for decades.
Those paying tribute also recalled his involvement in social initiatives and described him as a person who used his public standing to draw attention to issues affecting society.
Messages of condolence from across the political, social and film fraternity highlighted Patekar’s contribution both to cinema and to causes beyond the screen.
