Thousands of Reliance Jio users across Kerala faced a major service disruption on Monday afternoon, as mobile networks, JioFiber broadband, and voice calls went offline for nearly two hours. The outage began around 1 PM and affected over 11,000 users, causing widespread inconvenience.
According to Downdetector, 56% of complaints were related to mobile internet, 32% to JioFiber, and the rest to voice call issues. Frustrated users took to social media platforms, reporting “No Service” alerts on their phones.
Jio later attributed the disruption to a fiber cut in Tamil Nadu, which severely impacted network connectivity in Kerala and parts of Coimbatore. Services were largely restored by 3 PM, with normalcy returning to most areas.
The telecom provider advised users still facing issues to restart their devices or switch to Wi-Fi, assuring that technical teams are monitoring the network closely to ensure stability.
This unexpected outage has once again raised concerns over the resilience of telecom infrastructure in the face of regional technical faults.
