Priyanka Gandhi is on track for a decisive win in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypolls, with her lead surpassing one lakh votes within the first two hours of counting. The Congress party is optimistic, projecting a final margin of over four lakh votes.
From the very beginning of the counting process, Priyanka took a commanding lead, leaving her rivals — LDF’s Satyan Mokeri and BJP’s Navya Haridas — trailing far behind without posing any significant challenge.
The bypoll was triggered after Rahul Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat, having contested and won from two constituencies in the 2019 general elections. While Priyanka’s lead is substantial, it remains slightly lower than the margin secured by Rahul Gandhi in the last election.
The Congress is set to retain Wayanad with a strong mandate, reinforcing its position in Kerala and marking a significant victory in this high-stakes electoral contest.
