In preparation for the Maghi Purnima Snan on February 12, 2025, the Prayagraj administration has designated key areas as ‘No Vehicle Zones’ to manage the overwhelming influx of pilgrims and ensure public safety. This move comes after severe traffic congestion during a previous Maha Kumbh bathing event. Major routes leading to the Sangam and pathways from parking zones will be restricted, allowing only essential and emergency service vehicles. The restrictions will be enforced from a day before to a day after the event, with pilgrims required to park in designated areas and proceed on foot. With over 400 million visitors expected at Maha Kumbh 2025, authorities are implementing strict crowd control measures to prevent incidents like the recent Mauni Amavasya Snan stampede. Devotees are urged to follow the official traffic advisory for a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.
