Thiruvananthapuram: Marking International labour Day with a strong gesture of appreciation, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) credited ₹75.06 crore in salaries to over 22,000 employees, calling it a ‘May Day Gift’.
The move, announced through an official press release under the same title, reflects the state’s continued emphasis on employee welfare and timely compensation. As per the directive of Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar, the salaries were deposited in advance to ensure all workers received their pay before the May 1 holiday.
“This on-time salary release is not just a financial transaction, but a proud moment honoring our commitment to workers and the promises we’ve made,” the minister shared on social media.
The gesture has been widely appreciated as a meaningful tribute to Kerala’s workforce, reinforcing the government’s stand on labor rights and welfare.
