Kerala to Roll Out Unified E-Ticketing for Theaters by 2026

Thiruvananthapuram: In a game-changing move for Kerala’s film industry, the state government has taken a major step toward introducing a unified e-ticketing system across all theaters.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for software development was signed between the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) and the Digital University of Kerala, in the presence of Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cheriyan. The agreement was inked by KSFDC Managing Director Priyadarshan P.S. and Digital University Registrar Dr. A. Mujeeb.

Designed to bring greater transparency and efficiency, the system will be operated by KSFDC and extended to every theater in the state. Authorities expect it to be fully functional by February 2026.

Calling the project a turning point for Kerala cinema, Minister Saji Cheriyan said the initiative would play a key role in the modernization and holistic growth of the state’s film industry.
