The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about a “deep depression” over East Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh, which is expected to move westward toward Gujarat and the North East Arabian Sea by August 29. This weather system is bringing heavy rainfall and has triggered a high flash flood risk in parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
Gujarat has already been severely affected, with intense rains causing widespread flooding in multiple regions. The state government, with support from the central government, has initiated evacuations in vulnerable areas, particularly in districts like Valsad, Navsari, Surat, and Narmada. Additionally, the IMD has placed certain northeastern districts of Odisha under an orange alert due to the potential for heavy rainfall
