Kerala Film Industry Faces Turmoil as Cinema Strike Looms, AMMA Stands in Opposition

Kerala’s film industry is on the brink of disruption as several film organisations have called for a statewide cinema strike, halting film production and screenings. The protest stems from wage disputes, revenue-sharing conflicts, and alleged unfair practices in the industry, creating a tense standoff between various stakeholders.

However, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has strongly opposed the move, warning that a strike would severely impact daily wage workers and the overall film industry. Instead, AMMA has urged all parties to resolve the issues through dialogue rather than halting operations.

With uncertainty clouding upcoming film releases, the industry is anxiously awaiting a resolution. As negotiations continue, all eyes are on whether a compromise can be reached or if the industry will face a prolonged standoff.
