Delhi Braces for Heatwave as IMD Issues Yellow Alert

Residents of Delhi woke up to a warm and uncomfortable morning on Tuesday as temperatures continued to rise across the national capital.The India Meteorological Department issued a ‘yellow’ alert for heatwave conditions, warning people to remain cautious as isolated parts of the city are expected to experience intense heat during the day.

According to the weather department, the minimum temperature was recorded at 28.2 degrees Celsius at the Safdarjung weather station, which is 1.7 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature is likely to touch around 44 degrees Celsius.

Officials said the ‘yellow’ alert indicates the need for people to stay updated and take precautions against heat-related illnesses, especially during afternoon hours.With the capital witnessing soaring temperatures, authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
