Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Meets PM Modi in Delhi to Discuss Wayanad Rehabilitation

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi to discuss the rehabilitation efforts in Wayanad, which has been severely affected by recent landslides. During the meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Vijayan submitted a detailed memorandum outlining the state’s urgent need for a ₹2000 crore special financial package to aid in the rehabilitation and relief efforts.


The Chief Minister emphasized the devastating impact of the landslides and the urgent need for central assistance. Although PM Modi had earlier assured that financial constraints would not hinder the rehabilitation efforts, the Kerala government is still awaiting a formal announcement regarding the package. The state is hopeful that the central government will provide the necessary support to accelerate the recovery process in the affected regions​
