Kerala Cabinet Approves ₹26.5 Crore for Wayanad Rehabilitation Land Acquisition

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cabinet has approved a ₹26.5 crore compensation package for land acquisition as part of the rehabilitation project in Wayanad. The amount will be allocated from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to facilitate the resettlement of affected families.

The decision comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to address displacement issues and provide proper housing for those impacted by environmental and developmental challenges in Wayanad. The compensation aims to ensure a fair and timely resettlement process for affected residents.

Officials have stated that the rehabilitation project will prioritize livelihood restoration, infrastructure development, and welfare measures for displaced families. The government is expected to expedite the disbursement of funds and proceed with the next phases of the project soon.
