India’s First Glass Bridge Over the Sea Opens in Kanyakumari, Linking Iconic Landmarks

Kanyakumari: India’s first-ever glass bridge over the sea has been unveiled in Kanyakumari, connecting two iconic landmarks – the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the towering 133-feet Thiruvalluvar Statue.

Inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on December 30, 2024, the bridge spans 77 meters in length and 10 meters in width.

Constructed at a cost of ₹37 crore, the bridge boasts a bowstring arch design and is made from durable glass fiber, offering visitors an exhilarating experience of walking above the sea while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the azure waters below.

This architectural marvel is expected to become a major tourist attraction, offering both locals and tourists an unforgettable experience and significantly boosting the region’s tourism potential.
