New Delhi: In a bold response to the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 tourists dead, India has barred all Pakistani civilian and military aircraft from entering its airspace. The move is widely viewed as a firm countermeasure following Pakistan’s earlier ban on Indian aircraft.
While the restriction applies strictly to Pakistani flights, international airlines operating through Pakistani airspace will continue unaffected.
The April 22 attack has prompted a wave of strong diplomatic actions from New Delhi, including the potential cancellation of the Indus Waters Treaty. This latest airspace restriction significantly escalates India’s protest and is expected to severely impact Pakistan’s key air routes to Southeast and East Asia.
