India recorded 4,077 patent applications related to Ayush and 711 patents granted between FY 2014–15 and FY 2025–26, according to a report released during the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations.
The Status Report on Ayush Related Inventions in India (2014–2026), published by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, highlights the growth of research, innovation and intellectual property activity in the sector.
Union Minister of State for Ayush Prataprao Jadhav said the government was committed to promoting innovation while protecting India’s traditional knowledge systems.
