After a short lull, the monsoon has regained strength in Kerala, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert in five districts today — Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
Isolated areas in these districts may receive heavy rainfall ranging between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours, accompanied by possible thunderstorms.
The IMD has further warned that Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur are also likely to experience heavy showers tomorrow, with yellow alerts already in place. Thunderstorm activity with rain is expected to continue in isolated parts of the state till Thursday.
