Gold prices in Kerala witnessed a significant decline on today, with the rate of 916 hallmark gold falling by ₹395 per gram.
According to the latest market rates, 916 gold is priced at ₹13,645 per gram, while the rate for eight grams stands at ₹1,09,160.
The price of 18-carat gold has also eased, reaching ₹11,270 per gram and ₹90,160 for eight grams.
Meanwhile, silver is being sold at ₹250 per gram, with the price of eight grams fixed at ₹2,000.
Jewellery traders said the drop in gold prices could encourage buyers and boost jewellery purchases, especially during the ongoing wedding and festive season. The latest decline comes amid fluctuations in international bullion markets and changing investor sentiment.
