Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed concern over the growing influence of violent content in films and television serials on children. He stated that the glorification of violence in entertainment media is having a detrimental effect on young minds.
Referring to the recent rise in crimes committed by minors in Kerala and increasing narcotics abuse, the Chief Minister said that there is a worrying trend where the most violent character is often portrayed as the hero in films and serials. This, he warned, could have serious social consequences.
Vijayan emphasized the need for responsible content creation and urged parents, educators, and society as a whole to be vigilant about what children are exposed to. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to tackling crime and substance abuse among minors through strict measures and awareness programs.
