Raipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Chetan Borghariya, additional collector of Chhattisgarh’s Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, in connection with its money laundering investigation into alleged irregularities in the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (PSC) during the previous Congress government, officials said on Friday.
Borghariya was arrested under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials said.
The officer had earlier served as an officer on special duty (OSD) in the office of then Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel from 2019 to 2022.
The ED’s action is part of its ongoing probe into alleged manipulation and irregularities in the recruitment process conducted by the state PSC during the previous government.
Further details regarding the circumstances of Borghariya’s arrest and the allegations against him were not immediately available.
