New Delhi: New Delhi witnessed heightened security on Saturday as police and paramilitary personnel were deployed in large numbers ahead of a protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
Jantar Mantar, the designated protest venue, was turned into a heavily guarded zone, with multiple layers of barricades placed at key intersections. Loudspeakers were used to issue warnings as security personnel monitored the area.
The Patel Chowk roundabout also saw a significant police presence, with security arrangements intensified across nearby roads.Personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF), Rapid Action Force (RAF) and other paramilitary units, dressed in green and khaki uniforms, marched alongside Delhi Police officers. Carrying rifles, tactical equipment and heavy backpacks, the personnel assembled near the Parliament Street Police Station, located a short distance from the protest site.
The extensive security deployment came ahead of the planned demonstration, with authorities taking measures to maintain law and order in the national capital.
