Congress Extends Support to Protesting ASHA Workers in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress party has come out in support of the ongoing protest by ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers in Kerala, who are demanding better wages and improved working conditions.

ASHA workers, who play a crucial role in the state’s healthcare system, have been staging protests across Kerala, highlighting issues such as low pay, lack of job security, and inadequate government support. The Congress leadership has criticized the state government for neglecting the legitimate demands of these frontline health workers.

Senior Congress leaders have joined the protests, urging the Left government to take immediate steps to resolve the grievances of ASHA workers. The party has also called for a fair wage structure and social security benefits for them, emphasizing their vital contributions to public health.

With growing political pressure, ASHA workers remain firm in their agitation, demanding concrete action from the government to improve their working conditions.
