Big Relief for Pinarayi Vijayan and Daughter Veena; No Vigilance Probe in CMRL Pay-Off Case

The Kerala High Court has dismissed petitions seeking a Vigilance probe into the alleged pay-off case involving CMRL and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena Vijayan. The court’s decision comes as a significant relief for the CM and his family.

The revision petitions, filed by Congress leader Mathew Kuzhalnadan and late RTI activist Girish Babu, sought an investigation into the financial transactions between Veena Vijayan’s IT firm, Exalogic Solutions, and the Kochi-based mining company CMRL. However, Justice K. Babu rejected the plea, upholding the earlier order of the Vigilance Court in Muvattupuzha, which had refused to entertain the case.

The case gained traction after the Income Tax Settlement Board reportedly found that Exalogic received ₹1.72 crore from CMRL without providing any tangible software services. While Enforcement Directorate (ED) had already investigated the matter under anti-money laundering laws, the latest court ruling effectively puts an end to demands for a Vigilance inquiry.

This decision marks a major legal victory for the Kerala CM and his daughter, quashing allegations of financial irregularities related to the CMRL transactions.
