Mumbai/New Delhi: In a dramatic turn just weeks before the Asia Cup, fantasy gaming giant Dream11 has exited as Team India’s jersey sponsor, forcing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to hunt for a replacement.
The pullout comes in the wake of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which bans real-money gaming firms from sponsorship deals. As a result, BCCI has scrapped its ₹358-crore, three-year deal with Dream11, originally meant to run until the next T20 World Cup.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the split, stating, “Our association with Dream11 is over. We are deliberating on what the alternatives should be.”
Now, with the Asia Cup starting September 9, BCCI is racing against time—but insiders say the setback could turn into an opportunity. Telecom majors, leading automakers, and top fintech firms are already eyeing this high-profile sponsorship, making the jersey space one of the most sought-after advertising battlegrounds in Indian sport.
