Thrissur, March 13 (IVC) The Fast Track (under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012) Court judge here Jayaprabhu on 17-02-2024 (make recently instead of date) acquitted the accused Mohammed aged 60 in the sexual abused case of a minor girl, the accused’s relative.
According to prosecution, the accused sexually abused the minor girl several times in between 01-06-2019 and 31-08-2021 at Nadathara under the Ollur police limits.
The police framed charged against the accused under Section 354 (A) (i)(iii) , Section 375 of the CRPC and sections 8,9 and 11 of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and a charge sheet was filed accordingly.
Following the failure of prosecution in proving the crime, the court acquitted the accused.
Following the scrutiny of the documents, the court observed that it was a concocted case made out of previous enmity following money transaction between the minor girl’s relatives and the accused in connection with land deal.
