PM Modi Highlights How Flagship Initiatives are Boosting Health and Driving Economic Growth

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the transformative impact of India’s flagship initiatives, emphasizing their role in improving public health outcomes while simultaneously strengthening the nation’s economy.

Speaking at a national review meeting, the PM praised programs such as Ayushman Bharat, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Jal Jeevan Mission, noting how they have expanded healthcare access, improved sanitation, and ensured safe drinking water for millions. These efforts, he said, have led to better health indicators, reduced disease burden, and improved quality of life across the country.

On the economic front, the Prime Minister spotlighted initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, and Start-up India, which have fostered innovation, created employment opportunities, and bolstered India’s position as a global economic power. “Health and development go hand-in-hand. A healthier population naturally drives higher productivity and stronger economic growth,” he remarked.

The PM also stressed that ongoing investment in public health infrastructure, along with business reforms, will accelerate India’s journey toward becoming a $5 trillion economy. Officials highlighted that the synergy between health and economic reforms has created a “virtuous cycle,” where healthier citizens contribute to stronger growth, which in turn enables better social welfare.
