KSRTC Hits Historic High: Daily Revenue Surges Past ₹10 Crore for the First Time

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has smashed its revenue records, crossing the ₹10-crore daily collection mark for the very first time. On Sunday, KSRTC raked in an unprecedented ₹10.19 crore, signaling a turnaround moment for the state-run transport giant.

The financial performance has also shown encouraging signs. In August, KSRTC trimmed its overall losses by ₹10 crore compared to last year. Losses that stood at ₹60.12 crore in July 2023 dropped to ₹50.2 crore this year. Still, the corporation faces the burden of paying ₹1.19 crore daily to a bank consortium.

Transport Minister K. B. Ganesh Kumar expressed optimism, noting that KSRTC’s focus on attracting more women and family passengers is paying off. He further remarked that a steady daily income of ₹8.40 crore would push the corporation into profitability — a target now within striking distance.
