Kochi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has landed in Kochi for a two-day visit, set to boost the BJP’s preparations ahead of the upcoming local body elections.
On Friday morning, Shah will inaugurate the BJP state leadership meeting at Palarivattom, with state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar presiding. The high-level gathering will see the participation of Union Ministers Suresh Gopi and George Kurian, former state presidents Kummanam Rajasekharan, P. K. Krishnadas, V. Muraleedharan, K. Surendran, along with key state office bearers and district leaders.
As part of his itinerary, a state-level BJP workshop will kick off in Thrissur on Saturday, continuing the party’s organizational push in Kerala.
Meanwhile, Kochi city is under traffic restrictions today between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. along major stretches including Bolgatty Junction, Gosree Bridge, High Court Junction, Banerjee Road, Kaloor, Palarivattom, Edappally, Kalamassery, and Muttom. Following Friday’s leadership meet, Amit Shah will depart for Chennai.
