KSRTC Rolls Out 143 State-of-the-Art Buses with Digital Upgrades and Luxury Features

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to make a grand leap in public transport as 143 brand-new, feature-packed buses hit the roads today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will officially flag off the fleet at 5:30 PM from the Anayara Swift headquarters, where the launch of KSRTC’s full digitalization will also be marked.

The modern fleet, powered by BS6-compliant engines, includes a wide range of categories—Fast Passenger, Super Fast, Link, Volvo, AC Seater-cum-Sleeper, AC Sleeper, AC Seater, and Mini Buses. Adding glamour to the event, superstar Mohanlal will join the inaugural ride on one of the Volvos. The newly introduced Link services aim to strengthen inter-district connectivity across Kerala.

Designed to stand out, the Seater-cum-Sleeper and Sleeper buses feature a tricolor theme with Kathakali art. Passengers can look forward to plush pushback leather seats with dual tones, personal charging points, handrests, and footrests. Sleeper berths elevate comfort with AC vents, reading lamps, mobile holders, plug points, bottle holders, curtains, and dedicated luggage space.

To make journeys smarter and safer, all buses are equipped with Wi-Fi-enabled TVs and surveillance cameras both inside and outside. The Fast Passenger Link buses will carry a distinct look with vibrant color schemes.

Several ministers and public representatives will be part of today’s flag-off ceremony, making it a milestone moment for KSRTC’s modernization journey.
