New Delhi, May 22, 2025: In a stirring tribute to the nation’s bravest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2025 (Phase-1) at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the highest gallantry awards were conferred upon courageous members of India’s Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, and State/UT Police.
Presided over by President Droupadi Murmu, the ceremony witnessed the conferral of six Kirti Chakras—including four posthumously—and 33 Shaurya Chakras, of which seven were awarded posthumously, recognizing acts of unparalleled bravery and selfless service in the line of duty.
Sharing his sentiments on social media, PM Modi wrote: “Attended the Defence Investiture Ceremony-2025 (Phase-1), where Gallantry Awards were presented. India will always be grateful to our armed forces for their valour and commitment to safeguarding our nation.”
