Shine Tom Chacko Owns Up to Drug Use, Seeks Redemption—FEFKA Signals Possible Support with a Warning

Kochi: In a dramatic twist to Kerala’s ongoing drug crackdown, popular Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has reportedly admitted to drug addiction and appealed for a second chance to reclaim his place in the industry. The revelation follows mounting pressure from the Excise Department’s intensified investigation into the high-profile Alappuzha hybrid ganja case.

Insiders from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) say Shine expressed deep regret and a willingness to undergo rehabilitation, signaling his intent to cooperate fully with authorities. “He has shown remorse and asked for an opportunity to reform and return,” a FEFKA official revealed.

While FEFKA has not issued an official verdict, the organization hinted at a conditional path forward. “We stand for rehabilitation and reform. But this must be Shine’s final wake-up call—there will be zero tolerance going forward,” said a representative.

The actor, along with fellow artist Sreenath Bhasi, was recently served a notice for questioning after WhatsApp chats linked them to the case. Shine’s admission is being seen as a major development in the case that has sent shockwaves through the Malayalam film industry.

Industry leaders suggest this could be a watershed moment, prompting tighter anti-drug protocols and awareness initiatives within the film community.
