Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian has issued a strong warning against illegal activities in the Malayalam film industry, following a serious complaint from actress Vinci Aloysius. The actress alleged that a co-actor used drugs and behaved inappropriately during a film shoot.
Calling the complaint “grave and concerning,” Minister Cherian praised Vinci’s courage in taking legal action and assured that the government will conduct a thorough investigation. “There will be no tolerance for misconduct or drug use in the industry. Those who stand up against such behavior will have the full support of the state,” he affirmed.
The minister noted that similar issues have surfaced in the past and the government had taken decisive action. Discussions with industry organizations have been held to implement strict measures, and the upcoming film conclave will also address this growing concern.
Cherian urged filmmakers and producers to be proactive in addressing such issues, stressing that only collective efforts can cleanse the industry of such malpractices.
