Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Food and Civil Supplies Minister has clarified that the state government has no plans to reduce the number of ration shops. Dismissing concerns about possible closures, the minister assured that all existing ration shops will continue to function as usual to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the public.
The statement comes amid speculations about a reduction in the number of fair price shops due to financial constraints. The minister emphasized that the government is committed to strengthening the public distribution system and ensuring food security for all sections of society.
He also stated that measures are being taken to improve the efficiency of ration shops and address any operational challenges. The government will continue to support ration dealers and ensure the timely distribution of essential commodities without any disruptions.
