The CPI(M) Kerala State Conference, which commenced in Kollam, is centered around discussions on how to retain power for a third consecutive term in the state. CPI(M) state secretary M.V. Govindan told the media that the conference will focus on policy decisions and strategic debates aimed at strengthening the party-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government ahead of the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections.
The leadership is expected to evaluate the government’s achievements, address political challenges, and devise new approaches to counter the opposition. The conference will also discuss ways to expand the party’s mass support base, particularly among youth and first-time voters.
With 530 delegates participating, including top leaders such as Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Prakash Karat, and Brinda Karat, the event is seen as a crucial step in shaping the party’s roadmap for the future. The conference will conclude with a mass rally and Red Volunteer parade in Asramam Ground, Kollam, on Sunday.
