Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Chief Jayant Chaudhary also honored Singh by laying floral tributes at his memorial, Kisan Ghat, in Delhi .
Born in 1902 in Noorpur, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Chaudhary Charan Singh served as India’s fifth Prime Minister from 1979 to 1980. Known as a stalwart advocate for farmers’ rights, his contributions to land reforms in Uttar Pradesh remain unparalleled. In March 2024, he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, recognizing his immense service to the nation .
