The Supreme Court has called on the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to assess the possibility of resuming physical classes in schools and colleges across Delhi-NCR, following concerns about the impact of prolonged air pollution on students’ education.
Despite this, the Court firmly upheld the continuation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-4) anti-pollution restrictions, which include curbing construction activities and reducing vehicular emissions to combat the region’s severe pollution levels.
The Court emphasized the need to strike a balance between safeguarding public health and addressing the educational needs of students, urging authorities to carefully consider the resumption of physical classes while maintaining necessary environmental protections.
