NASA’s C-130 aircraft has embarked on a crucial journey, transporting essential components for the highly anticipated NISAR mission to India. The radar antenna reflector, a pivotal part of the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite, is headed to Bengaluru, where it will be integrated with the spacecraft built in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Scheduled for a 2025 launch, NISAR will play a vital role in monitoring Earth’s ecosystems, ice sheets, and tracking natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis.
