Mumbai: A prominent lawyer from Mumbai has taken legal action against the online ticketing giant BookMyShow, accusing the platform of scamming fans during the sale of Coldplay concert tickets. The lawsuit was filed after numerous fans, including the lawyer, faced difficulties purchasing tickets for the much-awaited concert.
The complaint claims that tickets were marked as “sold out” on BookMyShow, only to reappear later at significantly higher prices via third-party resellers, raising suspicions of foul play. The lawyer has called for a thorough investigation into the company’s ticketing practices, alleging profiteering from the resale market.
BookMyShow, however, has refuted the allegations, maintaining that it operates with strict measures to ensure fair ticket distribution. The controversy has ignited widespread frustration among concertgoers, many of whom struggled to secure tickets for the highly anticipated event.
