India’s Metro Network Expands to Nearly 1,200 km Across 26 Cities: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted the expansion of India’s Metro network, stating that the country now has nearly 1,200 km of Metro lines across 26 cities, compared to 248 km in just five cities in 2014.

In a post on X, Modi said more than one crore people travel by Metro every day. He noted that the expansion has reduced commuting time, improved productivity and given people more time with their families.

The Prime Minister said the expansion reflects the government’s efforts to transform urban transportation and improve mobility across Indian cities.
