New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, highlighting the Chinmaya Mission’s contribution to India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
Describing the occasion as an emotional and spiritual experience, Modi recalled his 1993 meeting with Swami Chinmayananda and emphasised the spiritual leader’s commitment to youth empowerment and nation-building.
The Prime Minister praised Chinmaya Mission volunteers for reaching over one lakh young people through a 300-day initiative covering 40,000 km. He also highlighted the Mission’s network of more than 100 educational institutions, which combine modern education with Indian values.
Modi underlined the importance of the National Education Policy in integrating traditional Indian knowledge with modern science and technology, and called for continued efforts to build a developed India.
