Chennai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of undermining India’s democracy and alleged that the BJP was involved in “vote chori”.
Speaking at the sixth edition of his youth outreach initiative, ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’, in Chennai, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said Modi would have to pay for what he described as crimes against the country.
Gandhi also accused the Prime Minister of silencing dissenting voices. Referring to events in Delhi, he alleged that the city had been shut down and police had beaten students, while BJP workers had also assaulted them.
