Rahul Gandhi questions Delhi Police over alleged mistreatment of women journalists

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged mistreatment of women journalists by Delhi Police and sought justice for those who have faced violence or misbehaviour.

In a post on X, Gandhi alleged that a pattern of silencing women who raise questions was emerging in Delhi. He made the remarks while sharing a video of his interaction with journalists Shaheen Khan and Nafisa Khan.

The two journalists have alleged that they were assaulted at Saket police station after going there to cover the inauguration of a new wing at Max Hospital in Saket by Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

“Why are you and your police afraid of women?” Gandhi asked Shah in his post, while demanding justice for those allegedly subjected to violence and misbehaviour by Delhi Police.
