New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian athletes for their medal-winning performances at the Asian Games, praising their determination, consistency and teamwork.
Modi congratulated Dharmveer Chaudhary, Manu TS, Jay Kumar and Vishal TK for winning the bronze medal in the men’s 4x400m relay, noting their impressive timing. He expressed hope that their success would further boost the popularity of athletics.
He also congratulated Pooja on winning bronze in the women’s high jump, describing it as a memorable achievement and India’s first Asian Games medal in the event in more than two decades.
Gulveer Singh received praise for winning bronze in the men’s 5000m, with the Prime Minister describing it as his third podium finish at the Games and highlighting his consistency, endurance and determination.
Modi also congratulated Manisha Keer, Neeru and Aashima Ahlawat for securing silver in the women’s trap team event. He praised their precision, focus and teamwork and wished them continued success.
