New Delhi: Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar began a three-day visit to Bhutan on Monday to strengthen institutional cooperation between the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Election Commission of Bhutan.
During his visit from September 14 to 16, Kumar is scheduled to meet Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in Thimphu on Monday.
He will be the chief guest at Bhutan’s National Voters’ Day celebrations at the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law in Paro on September 15.
On September 16, Kumar is scheduled to meet Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay in Thimphu and interact with senior civil servants.
The visit is aimed at further strengthening the close institutional ties and continued cooperation between the election commissions of the two countries.
