Thiruvananthapuram: District authorities have declared a holiday for educational institutions in several parts of Kerala on Tuesday following incessant heavy rainfall and waterlogging in many areas.
In Kozhikode, the District Collector announced a holiday for all educational institutions, including schools, madrasas, tuition centres, professional colleges and anganwadis, as heavy rain continues to affect hilly, coastal and low-lying regions. However, previously scheduled examinations and online classes will be held as planned.
Similar holidays have also been declared for educational institutions in Alappuzha, Malappuram, Kannur and Thrissur districts due to the prevailing weather conditions.In Idukki district, a holiday has been announced only for schools functioning as relief camps. Other educational institutions in the district will function as usual unless otherwise notified.The district administrations have urged the public to remain vigilant and follow official advisories as heavy rainfall continues across several parts of the state.
