PM Modi Congratulates Lovepreet Singh, Seema on Commonwealth Games Medals

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Indian athletes Lovepreet Singh and Seema for winning medals at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

Lovepreet Singh secured the silver medal in the Men’s +110 kg weightlifting event. He also created a new Commonwealth Games record in the snatch category with an outstanding lift. Congratulating the weightlifter, the Prime Minister praised his dedication and determination, and wished him continued success in the future.

In the Women’s Discus Throw event, Seema won the bronze medal with a best throw of 58.65 metres. Modi said her achievement had made the nation proud and inspired young athletes across the country.

In separate posts on X, the Prime Minister applauded both athletes for their remarkable performances and extended his best wishes for their future sporting careers.
